# What is Primi?

> Trade the private market.

Primi will become the first regulated US exchange that offers trade exposure to the momentum and trajectory of the world’s largest private companies.

Over the last decade, the world's most exciting financial growth has moved behind closed doors. There are more large private companies than ever before, they are worth more than ever before, and they’re staying private longer than ever before. And yet, everyday investors are completely locked out of this trajectory entirely. Enter Primi.

## What Primi offers

We aggregate live bid-ask quotes from established pre-IPO secondary markets (ie. Forge, Hiive, and Nasdaq Private Market) and calculate a continuous momentum index for each listed company. On top of that index, we offer perpetual-style contracts that anyone can trade.

Each listed company has its own index, its own price, and its own market. Positions can be opened or closed at any time. Gains and losses are determined solely by how the index moves between entry and exit.

## What Primi is not

Primi markets are cash-settled and do **not** confer ownership, equity rights, dividends, voting rights, or any direct claim on a company's assets or financial performance. You are not buying shares. You are not investing in the company. You are expressing a view on the direction and momentum of its secondary market activity.

The index for each company is calculated by an independent index provider from live bid-ask quotes and verified transactions on established secondary platforms. Every price move requires real capital and is subject to transparent market rules, position limits, and ongoing surveillance.

## The bigger picture

Over time, these signals will create the first public market signal for how the world perceives private companies, just as traditional public markets do for listed ones.
