No. Primi is a derivatives market. Trading on Primi gives you exposure to the movement of a company’s Primi index — a momentum signal derived from secondary market data. You have no ownership, equity rights, dividends, voting rights, or any claim on the company’s assets or performance.
If a listed company files an S-1 or announces an IPO, its Primi market enters a 5-trading-day wind-down. All open positions are cash-settled at the last valid index price at the close of the wind-down period. You have no claim on IPO proceeds.
The secondary market bids are the raw composite midpoint calculated from bid-ask quotes across eligible platforms. The Primi index measures whether these midpoints are rising faster or slower than the company’s own 12-month historical average. A company whose secondary market midpoints is still rising can have a falling Primi index if the rate of appreciation is decelerating relative to its own history.
The funding mechanism applies when the market price of a Primi contract diverges from the underlying reference index price. It creates an ongoing cost for holding a position that is significantly misaligned with the reference, which limits persistent divergence and keeps market prices anchored to the momentum signal.
If all eligible platforms simultaneously show no valid quote activity for more than 30 consecutive days, the index enters decay mode — drifting toward its neutral launch level at 0.1 percent per day. Decay stops immediately when any eligible platform resumes valid activity. A single platform going quiet does not trigger decay.
Yes. Positions on Primi have no expiration date. You can hold a position for as long as you choose. Be aware that funding costs apply when market prices diverge from the reference index, and that the index can move against your position at any time.
The composite reference price updates every 15 minutes during market hours using live bid-ask quotes. Index values are recalibrated at defined intervals and are immutable once computed.
Primi currently lists companies across six sectors: AI, Fintech, Space & Defense, Consumer, Data & Infrastructure, and Crypto. See Indices, Baskets, and Companies for the full list.
